Towed net: A solution for algae recovery on the coast

The only system in the world capable of collecting beached algae without sand.

Discover Doris: A net for collecting algae without sand

The Doris is a device capable of quickly collecting seaweed brought on the beach, towed by a tractor without a screener, with 0% sand, and therefore without an environmental footprint.

A real time saver, the small model can fill a standard bin in 30 minutes. This system is tailor-made to fit the truck it's pulled by. It is particularly useful when a storm has brought seaweed to the beach, and thus completes the work of the Zeus. The Doris is used every year on the Etang de Berre from June 1 to September 30.

An efficient solution for algae recovery on the coast

V₂O Marine offers an innovative, robust, and eco-friendly solution with its Doris towed net, designed for collecting algae washed up on coastlines. This product meets the challenges posed by algae proliferation on beaches, including sargassum and brown algae.

Doris: A towed net for effective collection

In the face of massive algae wash-ups, the Doris net allows for fast and targeted collection of brown algae, red algae, and other types of seaweed. Designed to preserve ecosystems, it minimizes the impact on sediments, aquatic fauna, and beaches. Capable of collecting large quantities of algal biomass, the Doris is a suitable response to environmental challenges such as eutrophication and nuisances caused by green and filamentous algae proliferation.

Protecting coastlines and communities

Algae wash-ups, common in the Caribbean and other coastal areas, emit unpleasant odors due to the decomposition of organic matter, such as hydrogen sulfide. These deposits harm water quality and disrupt human activities, including tourism and fishing. The Doris net limits the spread of toxic algae and helps preserve beaches, coral reefs, and biodiversity.

An environmentally-friendly and sustainable approach

By limiting the decomposition of algae, the Doris helps reduce marine pollution and protects coral reefs. Preventing the release of nutrients such as nitrates and phosphates into coastal waters, it safeguards the marine food chain and restores ecosystems impacted by human activities.

Valuing collected algae

The algae collected with the Doris net can be used in sectors such as agriculture to produce fertilizers rich in nutrients like nitrogen and potassium or in cosmetics for their antioxidant and hydrating properties. Certain edible algae species, such as spirulina or wakame, can also be integrated into food products, promoting a circular and sustainable approach.

With V₂O Marine's Doris towed net, choose a reliable and eco-friendly solution to manage algae wash-ups, protect coastlines, and make the most of marine resources.
